March Association Meeting Minutes

Tryouts Completed:

We would like to thank everyone that helped make tryouts run smoothly this year. Thanks also to the coaches that helped run the benches during the scrimmages. Rosters have been sent and we placed nearly 120 kids on teams. Right now we are looking at (3) squirt, (1) PW, (3) Bantam and (1) Midget team. Please send Paul Soule an email letting him know if your child will or will not be playing for the Cavs next season. It is critical to know who intends to play so we can solidify the rosters and know whether any adjustments need to be made.

Player Appeal Form:

As stated in the tryout policy, parents wishing to appeal their player’s placement may do so using the player placement appeal form found on the website. To date, we have only received (1) player appeal form.

Parent Concerns:

If you have any concerns about teams or player placement, please reach out to the board so we are aware of the issue. Too often parents decide to voice their concerns with each other and then the board is not aware of the problem and is unable to resolve it.

The $250 tuition deposit is due by 4/15/17. If we don’t receive your deposit by that date, we will assume your player will not be playing for the Cavs and will be removed from the roster.

2017-2018 Registration:

Registration is now open on the website.

USA Hockey Registration:

In order to register your player for the upcoming season, you will need to register with USA Hockey first to receive your confirmation number.

2017-2018 Tuition Payment Structure:

We are initiating a tuition payment structure for the 2017-2018 season. Copies of the payment structure can be found on the website under the resources/documents section. As a non-profit, we rely heavily on prompt tuition payments. We need to keep in good standing with Skate 3, VHL, our uniform suppliers and NHAHA. Tuition will be broken down into (9) monthly payments with tuition being paid in full by December 15th for Mite-Bantam Divisions. The Midget Division will be broken down into (6) monthly payments with tuition being paid in full by September 15th. We don’t ever want to have to pull a player from ice due to lack of payment, but at times this may be our only recourse.

Summer Skate:

We are entering our 14th year of our summer skate program. It will be held on Wednesday nights and will run from 6:00-7:00pm for Mites and Squirts and from 7:10-8:10pm for PW and Bantams. The cost will be $150 per player for 15 weeks. We are looking at the potential of doing a Midget skate as well.

Cam Ricard Night:

Our annual Cam Ricard night was held on March 30th. Congratulations to all of the winners: M1 Charlie Dee, S1 Broden Landsteiner, S2 Jake O’Brien, PW1 Chase Devins, PW2 Will Roncone, B1 Josh Parent, M1 Jake Lopes.

VHL Season:

VHL season has ended and playoffs have already begun. The last possible date for a VHL playoff game is April 9th.

Treasurer’s Report:

We currently have $10,000.00 in outstanding tuition.
